Amy Gogarty received her MFA from the University of Calgary and has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions across Canada. She taught visual art and ceramics history at ACAD for sixteen years prior to relocating in 2006 to Vancouver, where she works as an independent researcher, educator, artist and writer. She has participated in numerous national and international panels and published over 80 reviews, catalogue and critical essays on issues arising in craft disciplines. She co-edited two significant anthologies relating to craft: Utopic Impulses: Contemporary Ceramics Practice, with Ruth Chambers and Mireille Perron, and Craft Perception and Practice vol. 3, with Paula Gustafson and NĂ¯sse Gustafson. Both are published by Ronsdale Press in Vancouver.
